gathering around the city of benghazi in libya, they were worried if an american face was on that operation, if it was too much seen as america leading another war in the middle east, that they might not pass that resolution in the united nations security council. and so the idea was they needed to put some of the arab and other countries out in front and that the obama administration needed to lead from behind in passing that united nations resolution. so that was the context. i always thought, frankly, it was simply a matter of strategy, the phrase to me was always a little bit more machiavellian rather than announcing that they weren't going to take a leadership role in the world. of course, politically it's not something you would necessarily brand your foreign policy with. and republicans have really seized on it almost immediately and every republican has used it to slam obama ever since. but i hasten to add the specific context is very different than what most republicans describe. >> the article was an excellent article. i remember it well. you and i were on that same trip to north

was discovered near the patridge park open space in the city of arvada. at this time, we're unable to make any connection to the disappearance of jessica ridgeway. >> reporter: 10-year-old jessica ridgeway vanished nearly a week ago today. the fifth grader last seen walking to school friday morning. police have scoured her neighborhood, nearby fields, and waterways. investigators working jessica's abduction help process the crime scene where the body was found some 7 miles from jessica's home and 11 miles from where her backpack was found sunday. detectives have said they don't believe jessica's parents are involved in her disappearance. her mother and father spoke out just days ago. >> we'll never stop looking. >> i want her to come back through that door. i need her to walk back through that door. >> reporter: overnight, there has been no comment from jessica's family. we expect to hear from police in about an hour and a half. it's quite possible we'll have a much better indication if that body does belong to the missing 10-year-old, an entire community here holding their collective breath a

here in virginia, in the city of richmond specifically. advisors have been making it clear among the things we will hear from him today is an attack on what we heard from the vice president, specifically about the situation in libya. they sent out an e-mail a short time ago referring to biden's benghazi blunder and continued the administration pattern of misleading the american people about events in libya. we expect to hear about that topic in a short time from now. about last night, the other thing we heard specifically from the folks in the romney campaign is a lot of what you've been discussing, the sort of body language, the reactions, the expressiveness of the vice president, that they referred to as disrespectful, condescending, even rude. one top advisor said in an e-mail, what's wrong with biden? is this guy's elevator hitting the top floor? hoping to undermine vice president biden in the same way they went after al gore in the year 2000. that is another thing we expect to hear from them. >> peter alexander in richmond, thank you so much. >>> another highlight of last ni
